Cyanotype is an alternative photography method that uses the light of the sun to produce a blue and white image.  These images are archival, and suitable for framing. Best of all they are easy and fun to do.  I hope you can join me for one or more classes so we can explore this exciting art form together.

In this class learn all about traditional cyanotypes; including history, precautions, and methods.

You will get hands on practice, designing and developing cyanotype prints. We will also play a bit with double exposure methods. Take home 3-5 lovely prints suitable for framing.

 

Hub on Canal Workshops

Undoing the Blues

November 12th

 

Cyanotype prints are known for their bright blue and white color scheme, but did you know you can alter those colors with a few household items?  In this workshop we will explore developing cyanotypes – with a twist.  You will explore the wet cyanotype method as well as get hands on practice toning traditional cyanotypes. 

 

Class will run from 10:30 -3:00   There will be a break for lunch.

Using Negatives

December 10th

 

Recreate some of your favorite digital images into vintage prints using the cyanotype process.  Learn to create your own negatives using an app on your phone and a printer.  We will practice in the sun to get the correct exposures and you will go home with several prints plus the negatives you made.

 

Class will run from 10:30 -3:00   There will be a break for lunch.
